We will see how Lech Walesa – the worker from the shipyard become the leader of the first free trade union Solidarity and later become the first democratic polish president in post WW2 history. This modern museum also shows what was happening in other communist countries like: Czechoslovakia, Hungary and the DDR (East Germany). In Gdansk Shipyard – once was working a few thousand workers. Their determination has led to the collapse of totalitarian systems in Europe. How turbulent and dramatic was the history of modern Europe after 1945 you will find out at the European Solidarity Center.
